The Silver Cord or is an integrated, energetic and fluidic threaded structure of energy filaments that connect the physical and ethereal bodies to the higher self during a person’s lifetime of incarnation. It is similar to an elongated cable of light that is attached to many other smaller cords and threads which form the major Silver Cord . This cord is luminous and a major line of force of energy. It is only severed completely after the process of death. It may take moments, hours or days for this separation to complete its disconnection. During the life experience of a human being the Silver Cord provides an powerful energetic fusion between the physical and ethereal bodies and the aspected soul enabling it to create a continual two-way telepathic and energetic flow in the form of a loop. This process takes place on the subconscious and unconscious level through the mind, body and spirit.
Attributes of the Silver Cord
When viewed outside the body the Silver Cord appears as a silver-blue colored luminous stranded cord. It is constantly moving and has a multicolored, speckled structure within its structure. It is very strong and has physical elasticity. To the touch outside the body one can feel something like an electrical current. It can change contact points depending on the connecting elements. It is quite stunning to see. It varies in its size and density which are reflections of the energetic low of frequencies that it holds. The cord is about and inch and half long unstretched and has more strength and thickness at the points where it is connected to. It tends to thin out and thread as it is projected outward either into the ethereal realm or another location. Traditionally the cord is thought to be anchored to the navel area, just like the umbilical cord, but it is also thought to be attached to the back of the neck which is the strongest spiritual point in the physical body, the brow, the back of the head, chest or abdomen. It can be seen when a soul in a state of astral projection or Near Death Experience. It takes a consciousness awareness to look for it though while you are out of your body as it tends to be off to the side or downward in position. Outside the body it can actually resemble the tentacles of a jelly fish!!
The strength and level of activity within each primary energy center does have slight variations and different primary energy centers work in varying combinations and strengths for different types of projection and projection-related activities. This is due to many different types of energies that are necessary to maintain the integrity of the connection in different dimensional levels and circumstances. The strongest and most active primary energy centers will have a more visible energy threads as extensions.. The Silver Cord is not only connected to the etheric and physical bodies, it is connected to all the subtle bodies and their frequencies and transmutes all energetic light to all them.
The energetic activity in the physical and ethereal body is reflected into the projected double, and this very likely affects the location of the silver cord’s attachment there. If a projector has a naturally strong and active brow center, for example, the silver cord will usually be most visible in that area. It will be seen extending from the brow area of both their physical and projected aspects. The silver cord in my experience is somehow protected and invulnerable and therefore unbreakable. It cannot be damaged during a souls lifetime even through a physical trauma or an ascension such as Kundalini Awakening. The cord appears to be impenetrable.
The Functions of the Silver Cord
The main role of the silver cord is to nourish the subtle and physical bodies with vital energetic life force. Its function is to keep your incarnated soul attached and grounded to your physical body through the infusion of the Universal Life Force. At night your soul usually moves outside your body and journeys around in both the three dimensional and higher planes. This happens because of the need to heal, learn and distill information that is obtained on the Third Plane. One way of looking at the silver cord is to visualize it as being like an umbilical cord that joins a mother and her unborn child together that delivers the nutrients that her unborn child needs in order to survive. Upon delivery of the baby the umbilical cord is cut as soon as the child is born in order to allow the newborn child to obtain nourishment from the external world outside the womb as the child can no longer rely from sustenance from the mother’s body. However, the Silver Cord is different as it has to remain intact and connected to the auric fields otherwise your soul will lose its anchoring and you will experience death.
The Silver Cord and Sleep Time
At nighttime we leave our physical body and travel outwardly onto the higher astral and Heavenly planes. With our Silver Cord firmly grounding and attaching us to our bodies we are able to project our aspected souls upward into the higher realms to connect with loved ones and our Spirit Guides, heal and obtain information for use here on the Earthly Plane and plan for our future experiences. When you are outside of your body through the process of Astral Projection or Lucid Dreaming you can observe the luminous Silver Cord. It usually happens when you look downward or away when you are drifting upward. It has been described as quite long and shimmering and silver in color and very bright when outside of the body. Those that are skilled in the practice of Astral Projection rely on the stability of this cord to anchor them to the physical realm and to allow them to return to their physical bodies at the end of the interdimensional journeys.
Astral Projection and the Silver Cord
Each night when we fall asleep astral projection occurs naturally. This can occur spontaneously whether we are conscious about its process or not. This means that every human being experiences the astral projection every night while the physical body is sleeping and the person is recovering physically and mentally. The consciousness disconnects from the physical body and projects into the astral body so that it can have experiences in other planes and higher dimensions. It is also a way for the soul to attain healing and repair that it can’t achieve while in the physical body.
Some souls can facilitate Astral Projection while awake. Voluntary Astral Projections are usually a conscious choice. They differ from spontaneous OEB. You can have a spontaneous OEB and be fully aware of the experience. It can be very alarming when this happens. It can happen while trying to fall asleep and in a Lucid Dream state. Some intentionally will their souls out of their bodies through yogic practices, deep breathing and meditation. There are pros and cons to this practice. One is the formation and a deeper connection to the interdimensional realms. But there are dangers and personally I would advise to not go forward with this practice because it is a form of manipulation of systems and bodies that are kept in place during the waking hours for a reason. It does change Karma and can make you vulnerable to Astral Attacks. The Silver Cord keeps you connected to your body during this ethereal excursions but the more this is practiced the higher the chances that you encounter something for which you were not intended to meet. Caution please here! No matter how far your soul travels during and Astral Projection nothing and no being can cause the severing of your Silver Cord. When someone experiences an Out of Body experience a part of the vital body separates and a foam like substance emerges from the etheric body. This is replenished though after the person returns to their physical body but it can be draining and must not be overdone.
The Silver Cord and Near Death Experiences
A Near Death is a mystical and sometimes very traumatizing experience by those who have been at the threshold of death. People who have experienced heart attacks, violent physical attacks or severe car accidents have reported these experiences with or without a heartbeat. If someone clinically dies and then is revived it can be partially contributed to the Silver Cord remaining intact. During the Near Death Experience the Silver Cord remains in place. If a Near Death Experience involves the severing of the Silver Cord then the process will be irreversible and the person goes forward into the transition to the Astral Plane for healing and their life review. The experience varies from each individual but is frequently marked with the feeling of leaving ones body, feelings of all pain and suffering leave the soul and a feeling of moving through a dimly lit tunnel toward a pinpoint of bright light. At this point though you are still connected to your physical body and are not really dead. People are often turned away at this point and told that this is not their time to crossover. You can then be literally yanked and pulled back into your physical body. Your were only in God’s waiting room. Sometimes this is a spontaneous process that happens to protect the projected part of the soul from any harm. A Near Death Experience would then become an irreversible bodily death. The aftershocks of a Near Death Experiences can be an enhanced spiritual awareness and a lessoning of the fear of death. Sometimes this is part of a souls physical experience here on Earth.
I have had a total of” 5″ NDE in my current lifetime. They all have been slightly different and I have gone into different areas onto the Astral Plane. Almost all of these experiences involve moving though a tunnel which could be a reflection of the birth canal and outward towards a higher very bright area with thrones and crystalline appearances. On one occasion I was able to see my Silver Cord when I looked downward and as I was pulled back into my body I felt a tight pull near the area where my belly button would be (even though I was out of my body).
A (NDE) is not really an authentic reflection of what it is like to die in the permanent sense as you are still attached to the Silver Cord and are still bound to the Earth. You are still a visitor so to speak. You are still vibrating at a three-dimensional frequency and that is why the Astral Plane seems a lot like an Alice in Wonderland place. It can appear warped. You are in between worlds.
Love and Care for Your Silver Cord
Your Silver Cord has a lot of stability and has restorative qualities so it is mostly self maintaining, but you can assist in its overall health. Reiki healing and balancing are very effective ways to cleanse the chakras that are attached to the cord. Grounding, meditation and staying away from low-vibrational people and situations are also very important. Eating well, drinking plenty of fresh distilled water and getting a lot of good, deep sleep all can aid in maintaining the strength of your connected cord.
Breakage of the Silver Cord
There is only one thing that can cause the Silver Cord to break and force the soul out of the body completely from your physical body and that is Death. Permanent death. Whether it is a natural death, a death by one’s own hand or a death caused by a another human being. Your death itself is not appointed until the cord itself is broken. If there is a sudden impending death your Guardian Spirit will severe the cord immediately before the even so the impact and the trauma of the death is not experienced so violently by the soul. Although there may be a memory of the trauma the physical and emotional pain of the event will not be felt with the full force. This is a protective measure. I would like to say the intention is to protect but some souls may record the impact into their Akashic Records as part of their earthly experiences. Once the Silver Cord is severed from the Auric Field and the Physical Body the Astral Body or Shell usually will move up onto the Astral Plane to dissolve and distill the recorded information into the Akashic Plane. Sometimes this does not happen and the Astral Body remains here on the Third Plane. Sometime its intentional and sometimes the Astral Body has densified itself to a point where they cannot ascend from the earth. A good medium can be called to assist in the crossing over the soul and move the spirit to where it needs to be. This remaining Astral Body is what is known as an Earthbound Spirit. It really isn’t a good idea for these souls to remain on the earth for long periods of time as they can be harmed by malevolent entities and it can disrupt their healing process and delay their karmic journey. Additionally, some mediums who claim to “Channel” spirits are actually communicating with the Astral Shell and NOT the actual soul. This is how they are able to pick up information about their lives here on earth. True mediumship does not involve channeling. It is about receiving a soul that is able to communicate that inhabits the higher planes and has not gone through reincarnation or ascension to Heaven and healing process.
Mysticism and the Silver Cord
The Silver Cord is reported by mystics and religious figures throughout our historical record and is notated in our Holy Bible. One example is this passage in scripture;
The Holy Bible
Ecclesiastes 16:6-7
[6] Remember him – before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, or the wheel broken at the well
[7] and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

In the Tao
In Taoism it is sought to reach the development of the ethereal body through what is known as the “Circulation of Light” or the Silver Cord. In most reflections of this energetic body a thin silvery strand can be observed that connects to the earthly self. It is the fontanelle by which the subtle body exits the physical body in the practice and belief of Taoism.
The Silver Cord and Twin Flames
At the time of our birth we are separated from our Twin Flame when the soul divides into two different threads that are reflected in our physical, mental and psychic bodies. The silver cord extends from our Heart Chakra and out through our chest in Twin Flame connections and stretches through the spiritual realm and connects you with your Twin Flames Heart Chakra. This cord is guarded by Karma and Divine guidance from our guides. It is eternal and unbreakable as Twin Flames share a Chakra system. This is the source of connection even if the Twins are separated during their lifetime on Earth. Even if one Twin passes away and leaves the earth. This intertwining exists for the purpose of spiritual ascension. We are so inextricably linked to our Twin Flame because they are our path to unity and oneness with the Divine. The Silver Cord is extremely elastic and allows for a back and forth sometimes to create distance between Twin Flames so they may grow and learn and have other relationships and lessons. We can’t severe the bond between our Twin Flame but we can move away from the connection if we need to. Sometimes this is part of the Twin Flame agreement so both can move forward in the souls journey. The separation can be part of the Karmic Agreement between Twin Flames. Twin Flame relationships can frequently be very painful and cause immense upheaval and may not be meant to be expressed in a traditional way on this earthly plane. Their will be a reunion and merging through the soul once both have completed their lifetime.
The Silver Cord, like any etheric cord involved in our soul’s connection must be cared for and respected. Daily grounding exercises, mediation and care of the mind and body can assist in keeping it strong and well connected so that your able to attain your spiritual dreams. Just as in birth the umbilical cord is the vital source for the growing baby the Silver Spiritual Cord gives and brings the vital life force for all human beings remain in the body and experience their humanity in fullness.
