Souls undergoing the fifth and final stage of reincarnation are at last are ready for the final leg of the journey. The journey of return to unity and the final end of reincarnation. It is the last earthly incarnation. This return to unity does not involve any loss of individuality. The end of the reincarnation process or “ascension” does not mean fading out of personal existence or dissolving into nothingness. It means that the soul completes its adventure as a unique individual. A bright and distinctive star in the evening sky. A beautiful and completely realized Soul.
To begin this stage of ascension the soul will tend to focus on true self-expression and self-actualization. It will seek experiences which provide personal fulfilment within life on the physical plane to actualize this deepening. This could be found in relationships or an enriching career or perhaps athletics etc. The soul is not interested in success or fame so much as doing something it is passionate about and does well and finding inner satisfaction. Towards the end of the stage there is more of an emphasis on teaching rather than simply learning. Passing along the wisdom to those that are ascending too.
The Completion of Our Reincarnation Cycle
There are seven levels to every stage of soul evolution, including this one. So after completing the 7th level of the Mature Soul Stage the soul begins its next life as a First Level Old Soul. The soul then undergoes the whole sequence of development as an Old Soul one life at a time until finally it reaches Seventh Level. This is the final stage in the thirty-five steps of reincarnation.
I occasionally meet people who are convinced that they must now be in their final incarnation simply because they are so “spiritually enlightened” and have no attachment for the physical world. These might be signs but it isn’t how it really works. The purpose of ascension is not to escape from the densified physical plane despite what many teach. The end of reincarnation is not some sort of reward for good behavior. Human existence is not a prison or a wheelhouse of torture from which only the most worthy gain liberation.
We incarnate because we want to and we choose to. We keep doing it precisely because we want to come to terms with it. We know that in each life we will probably spend several decades not remembering who we are not remembering our eternal Home. These experiences are what inspires us to become more conscious. Completion occurs when it matters not whether you are incarnate or discarnate but when you see through the illusion and you always feel at Home. If you have issues with being in the physical body then there is still much work to be completed. The last lifetime is one in which you are very content to be in physical form using it as an opportunity to teach and enlighten others.
The idea is that as we grow in soul maturity the souls who have applied enough soulful energy in their lives will be able to remember the patterns of foolish and destructive behavior repeated in the past to correct and learn and move forward from their mistakes. To give an example: In a past life we might have been impoverished and spent most our life pursuing money. But once we achieved financial wealth we realized how pointless it all was. The memory of this can prevent us from making the same mistake in our present life and this is precisely what the Buddhist “Wheel of Life “illustrates.
As long as we keep dying feeling unfulfilled from this life. As long as we keep dying carrying our superficial desires and expectations that create misery and suffering for ourselves and others and as long as we continue to identify with our superficial sense of self we will continue to return to this world until we reach inner wholeness. Our reincarnation is a necessary process of refining our soul and of liberating ourselves from an unfulfilled existence and assisting us in quenching our spiritual fulfillment.
The Feeling of Wanting to Go Home
It is during this process in our souls ascension that we mature and begin to somewhat separated from our world and those around us. We may struggle to remain connected in relationships with other people and attached to things such as established careers and longstanding relationships. As a result of this isolation we can develop the deep longing to return back to our “Home Frequency” to our divinity or conscious womb. The place where we feel we belong and where we finally feel whole again.
At first it may seem like a horrifying experience to go through. An interruption to your life. Ascension can be very invasive. This process is often referred to as “The Dark Night of the Soul”. It signifies a time within our soul when we begin to ‘grow up’ spiritually and when we start to understand that a spiritual awakening is not about having blissful experiences but is about serving a much higher and more profound cause which is the collective ascension of all humanity. This is something we as individuals can never be separate from even though here on Earth there is the full illusion of separation.
The Last Reincarnation is one where a souls awaken. The soul merges with the opposites. We transcend separation and duality and become one and become aware and responsible for all of our thoughts and actions and how they affect us and others. Our “Awakened Soul” is the final progression of the Old Soul who has undergone immense spiritual deepening and cleansing. It is not possible to awaken completely all at once. It is a process that happens in stages and layers are peeled back. Layers and layers of conditioning and karmic pain. Old Souls awaken slowly over short periods of time.

The Dark Night of the Soul
The dark night of the soul invariably follows a spiritual ascension. As the soul experiences the high energetic bliss of awakening and then back to the everyday reality of life everything now suddenly looks muted. The shine of everyday life seems to have faded. Interests you previously found meaning in are now foreign and shallow to you. You do not feel connected any longer. There is a void.
The enlightened soul can observe the human rat race, dealing with the masses and the constant wanting of material possessions and see the pointlessness in it . You look at others that are seemingly ignorant. Conditioned. They seem oblivious and consumed by every day events and wonder how they can take it all in without imploding. Yet you still can’t quite walk away from your old life. You may feel torn between two worlds. Not able to relate to your 3D existence fully and pulled toward the light. You may find yourself drawn to new types of people and new ways of thinking. Sometimes even immersing themselves into the extremes and exploring areas you would have never formerly ventured. Anything to try to recapture the feelings and the emotions you formerly received from these now seemingly meaningless activities. Until there is a realization that you have changed and there is really no going back. It doesn’t mean that you no longer love or care for things that once were-you have changed your frequency.
This is the transitional period. By God’s love we have been awoken but after that realization the foot work is our responsibility. Once awake we can never truly go back to the way we were. The cleansing and the reconciling our own actions along with the grasping for deeper truths and the striving to awaken deeper compassion and love. Not through divine grace but through our own battered souls is a hard fought process. It is a time of hardship and turmoil. The person that emerges from this darkness is exalted. The shift has been completed. They are forever changed from the very deep interiors of their soul. Remembering here that most endings are the beginning of something else.
Karmic Egression
When exiting the cycles of reincarnation one can suffer exhaustion. Most people come out of their ascension cycles feeling “World Weary”. Burned out by life and its paradigms and conditioning that bind you to the earth and keep you locked in the cycle of oppression and obedience. People can feel disconnected from life wanting to isolate and having the feeling that you are being called home. Wherever “home” is.
Newly Acquired Health Issues
Those who are on their way out of this lower vibrational 3D plane of karma and reincarnation usually acquire several health issues. They may move from doctor to doctor without and tangible cures or causes. It is thought that they want to use this last opportunity to learn from physical karma before they are free of the body for good. Typically these are rare and treatment resistant diseases that take a lifetime to cure. They can also be transient during the cleansing process. They can come and go when energy is working on particular area of the light body and the soul.
Relationship Issues
Those who are on their last lifetime usually experience an endless series of problematic relationships with others: family, friends, co-workers etc. Mostly through no fault of their own. This occurs because the one about to egress or leave the reincarnation process is giving each of these individuals one last chance to make peace. Since they do not plan on coming back to the earth they may wish to resolve all or most Karmic ties. It is one of the most profound acts of love that one soul can offer those in lifetime agreements with.
Money Can Be an Issue
Those who are in their last earthly lifetime usually do not want to use money to solve their problems. They focus on non-monetary solutions to their problems. This occurs due to the fact that the soul leaving wants to test their abilities in a creative and resourceful fashion.
Detachment From the Earthly
Those on their final lifetime on earth usually do not become drawn into the emotional dramas of others. This is because they understand that each soul must stand on their own and in their own energy. They give others space and time to find their own answers as opposed to trying to impose their judgments and control upon loved ones and colleagues.
Taking Personal Responsibility
Last Lifetime People focus intently upon their conduct. If they are involved in the recognition of decency towards themselves and others they need not worry about what others do or fail to do. They take responsibility for their thoughts, beliefs, what they say and their actions. They leave the rest to the justice of Karma and the Universe. This is a symbol of the ascensions integration and the acceptance that they are not in control of the outcomes of anything really.
Toxic Parents and Childhood Issues Explained
To accelerate their Karmic Burn the Old Soul will intentionally choose to be born into a difficult situation such as household with substance-abuse or psychological and/or physical and verbal abuse. It may have a theme of poverty or mental illness. Usually their parents or siblings and other close family members can be considered Karmic adversaries that the Old Soul has had problematic relationships with in past lives. Old patterns will quickly resurface and scream for healing and resolution. I know this cycle permanently. I know that it is extremely difficult. You can begin to release the personalization that takes place in this circumstance and in the ascension process realizing that it was the contrast the soul needed and not the personalized pain. The soul was always safe and free.
Intense Relationship Karma
To accelerate their Karmic Burn the Old Soul will intentionally select romantic partners who will continue to offer them challenging situations. Abuse, cheating, abandonment, arguments, fighting emerge to heal this specific relationship karma.
Complex Life Challenges
To further their acceleration of Karma the Old Soul will intentionally agree to experience complex life challenges. It could involve a painful divorce or the death of a family member. It could involve an accident or devastating injury. The complications that arise from these challenging situations that would crush lesser people. These are almost daily experiences of a Soul that is experiencing their last lifetime.
Past Life Healing
To further accelerate the karmic energy the Old Soul make undertake past life healing. They will want to understand why they have taken on such a difficult and complicated life. Once they have understood why they have chosen their path they will know that all the struggles and suffering had a purpose and were never made in vain.
Past Life Cycles Emerge
The present life apply does not fall far from the past life experience. What created conflict and pain in the past are bound to trigger conflict in the present lifetime. Each soul is likely to make the same choices as they have in the past. These similar choices inevitably lead to the same conflicts.
Beautiful Acts of Love
Love powers and energizes the universe and drives our cycles of reincarnation. Imagine what an act of love it is for one person to give another person the chance to bring love into the situation when they know full well they are probably going to get hurt in the process no matter how hard each of them tries to get things right. Old Souls give love freely. They give love without the thought of reciprocation to ensure it to those they come into contact during this lifetime.
Awakening is only possible for those who seek and desire it. Those who are ready to struggle with themselves and work on themselves by developing their authenticity will attain it. A lot of people will claim that they are spiritual. They may meditate or do yoga and even call themselves Yogi’s. I know many of these folks. But they are involved in appearances only. In order really to ascend the soul must disconnect the false identity. Most souls will not have such a strong desire and will not be ready to leave the reincarnation process in order to discover the truth.
This is what an Awakened Souls is. Their false identity has died. They have opened up the door and have seen through the veil of societies creation of the world. The unity that has been revealed encompasses all beings and transcends all boundaries. Mystics in every religious system have reported this to be the highest truth. Jesus who was an Awakened Soul would teach this as “blessed are the poor in spirit”, an emptiness that results from being free of all encumbrances and tethers to one’s physical existence.
All Souls come from God or Source through individual rays of pure spirit. They evolve back to their native perfection by exercise of their free-will. The conditioned and the enlightened alike choose a lifetime to complete their evolution. In this final stage of evolution where consciousness finally merges with the infinite presence and eternal life force of “all-that-is” — the Tao. By the end of this stage the consciousness of souls is effectively at one with the creative power of the universe. Individual thoughts give way to the infinite consciousness and personal feelings give way to infinite bliss. The consciousness now comes to experience and know itself and paradoxically as both creator and created. They are both the source of evolution and the final production.
At this level of ascension there is no need for such souls to reincarnate. On rare occasions they can descend into physical manifestation and inhabit a body once again as guide or healer to help with a mass shift in consciousness on the planet. From what I have seen, even after the final stage we are always free to choose to undergo the whole process again just for the sheer rush of it.
