Heyoka Shows the Sacred Mirror and Shatters the Glass Illusions Between Worlds
A large segment of humanity is able to empathize in one form or the other with other people. The exaltation of this type of empath is called the “Heyoka Empath”. This is a disarming, piercing and evolving archetype. Only a select few can be considered avHeyoka empath. The ”Heyoka” is a Native American term that means a ”fool” or a ”sacred clown” in the culture of the Sioux (Lakota and Dakota people) of the Great Plains of North America.
A Heyoka Empath has many different traits. They are very creative people who think about things in a broad manner. In other words, they are free-spirited thinkers that don’t follow who allow themselves to explore unique ideas no matter how strange and against the grain they may be. These people are able to unveil the emotions and thoughts of others and are able to say the right thing to heal them. A few of Heyoka Empaths may also have trouble with reading and writing struggling with dyslexia.
People may find them to be intrusive and blunt since they frequently interrupt others. They also feel uncomfortable in their presence. However, it is not the intention of a Heyoka Empath to make others feel this way. Their personality is a mirror of the emotions and insecurities of others. So others may uncover negative traits and different sides of themselves when they interact with them. If someone is open-minded and not defensive they can learn a lot about themselves and go on a journey of self-improvement and growth by interacting with them.
Heyoka comes from a Native American term that means a sacred clown. It describes people who detect and mirror the emotions of others around them. In the Lakota tribe, Heyoka makes use of wind in the form of sticks to beat clouds and give the sound of thunder. Whereas, in English, it refers to individuals who look at the world differently, think, and behave against the norms.
Another meaning of Heyoka is pain releaser. This is because such people have the ability to absorb the negative and painful emotions of others. They can cleanse them with their abilities. In Buddhism, Heyoka Empaths are people with high wisdom. It means that they have a clear and calm state of mind. They are completely awake and at a high state of self-awareness. The can help resolve generations of pain in individuals, families and the land.
Usually such people are on a path of self-actualization. This is perceived by others as strange and out of the ordinary. Such people speak and behave in a manner that is different from what is usually practiced in society. In other words, a Heyoka empath has an awakened soul and they try to wake up others as well and reach similar levels of enlightenment. People perceive them to be highly negative and feel unease in their presence. This is because a Heyoka empath is able to uncover a person’s true self including their hidden parts. This is an uncomfortable experience for most people.
The spirit of a Heyoka is the Great Mirror. When you connect to a Heyoka, what you see in them will show you what you need to work on to evolve spiritually. The Heyoka’s mirror is one of emotion, for however you react to them emotionally is their guidance to reflect back to you. the Heyoka empath, or as I also think of this type of empath, the kaleidoscope empath.
While it is possible to possess the skills and characteristics of several different types of empaths without being a Heyoka, a true Heyoka will always possess the traits of several other types of empaths. Typically, a Heyoka will possess the traits of the claircognizant, telepathic, precognitive and emotional empath.
What sets the true Heyoka apart is the unique, eccletic and playful way in which they approach, provoke, unlock generational and subconscious pain imprints heal even the darkest feelings or situations.
Heyoka is considered the most powerful type of empath, as well as the rarest. We all have certain abilities when it comes to our capacity for empathy and our ability to pick up impressions and information with our intuition and the super spectrum of our normal senses. What makes the Heyoka the most powerful empath and healer is their unrestrained and unorthodox thinking, and their vast energy. The Heyoka empath is able to see things in a completely different way to everyone else.
Heyoka is the Mirror
The Heyoka often functions as an emotional mirror, reflecting others’ emotions back to them. The Heyoka will typically mirror back whatever it is that the person they are working with needs in that moment in order to heal, grow and transform. For example, if someone is very narcissistic or unfeeling the Heyoka may reflect this attitude back at them in a way that makes them realise their own cruelty and work to change it.
The Bounty of Heyoka
Most people spend their lives colouring carefully within the lines – a Heyoka doe not. As an archetype, the Heyoka disrupts, shakes loose, shifts and changes. Heyokas are less restrained by the mores of society, and because negative programming and limiting beliefs seem to slide right off them, the Heyoka wants to help others experience the same level of inner freedom and sovereignty that they themselves enjoy.
Hallmarks of Heyokas
Being born Breech Baby (entering the world backwards)
Developing traits more slowly than others and other traits developed incredibly fast;
Being dyslexic
Being emotionally unpredictable
Doing things backwards-starting from the ending and working your way to the begining
Thinking outside of the box;
Appearing younger than their age both mentally and physically
If 2 or more of these themes are true to you than you are a Heyoka.
A Heyoka can recognize another Heyoka when they feel their energy, it is instant. They are deeply sensitive to another’s energy (like other Empaths) and can see how the emotions of various people play out and affect one other on a broad scale.
Heyoka is a native identity, but the archetype of the Heyoka healer, humanity’s emotional and psychic mirrors and can apply to anyone who approaches the archetype genuinely with the willingness to deepen, develop the skills and tools to assume the inherent responsibilities that come with being a sacred clown.
