I thought I would share a little about my family history with respect to my spiritual gifts. I am adopted so I did not grow up with my family of origin, the family where my spiritual gifts originate from. As far back as I can remember, maybe at the age of two, I have seen, heard, sensed ghosts and other spirits. When I was younger I would have profound clairvoyant visions that I could not ignore. I would draw symbols on blank sheets of paper when I would see or hear what I called “the clear people” not realizing it was a form of automatic writing. My abilities run through my birthmothers side of the family as I discovered when I was reunited with her when I was in my thirties. Prior to that meeting I had no idea where my gifts came from or what they even were. That took a lot of time and study. Growing up in Maine my adoptive parents were baffled and many times frightened by the supernatural events that surrounded me and inhabited our homes. Things became so intense with the ghosts one summer that I was sent to live with my grandmother for a period of time. She was more equipped to handle this sort of thing and had an understanding about the otherworldly. It was during my visits with my birthmother that I learned the extraordinary story of our family and my great-grandfather Mihai, her grandfather.
Mihai was born in Transylvania in the area of Alba Lulia. He was the seventh son of the seventh son and came from a family that consisted of healers, doctors and mediums. From an early age he saw people in his home who needed healing and prayer. He healed others in a physical and spiritual way. He interacted with the supernatural and performed blessings in homes, he also felt compelled to lay hands on those that were suffering. People would come from all over to see him and receive spiritual healing . During World War 2 he and his family were forced to leave Romania. They left Europe and immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in New Jersey. He started his work shortly after arriving in America. He assisted with house clearings and spiritual counseling. His gifts deepened and he began his journey into what is known as “The Work” or more commonly known as Deliverance or Exorcism. He was ordained in the Romanian Orthodox Church and he began helping others all over the country. My great-grandfather assisted in over 200 exorcisms in his lifetime, many times putting his personal safety at risk. He accepted little or no money for the work that he did. He understood the necessity to offer his gifts to those in need. He suffered from stigmata most of his life, the superficial wounds and markings that correspond to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. I also have these wounds. They developed when I was six years old. Mihai continued this work even throughout his older years and died doing what he was born to do at 91. Though I never knew him (he passed away prior to me meeting my birthmother) I do feel his spirit with me and I now understand why I have felt compelled to help others who are in need, even as a young girl. I am honored to continue the work that he started and I am relieved that these inherited gifts do possibly end with me as I am the last child from that bloodline with these abilities. My daughter does not have these gifts, thankfully as it is an intense incarnation. It is my hope that our work lives on in spirit and in the lives of those we have touched.
