People often ask me “Who are my spirit guides?” “How can I connect and work with them?” “Are my spirit guides deceased relatives that have reincarnated in order to help me?” For that particular question I can say we are not sure. I believe it to be possible in certain cases. But generally Spirit Guides are non-human beings or from other realms who come to assist and support and help us along our journey here on earth.
Spirit guides are non- corporeal beings that are assigned to care and guide us here on earth prior to our incarnation. They are responsible for helping us fulfill our spiritual contracts here on earth. Your highest vibrational self or Higher Self assists in the selection of your guides. Spirit Guides are not always specifically Angels,but they are part of the Angelic Realm.
Your Spiritual Guides will for the most part stay with you for the duration of your life span here on earth and will assist in the process when you cross over onto the other side. Some may be released when a specific goal or lesson has been achieved. Other guides may be added depending on the ascension stages you are experiencing. Your guides vibrate at various levels of consciousness. Some may have female or male energy-others may be ascended masters delegated for a specific role and purpose in your life. Some spirit guides may have had physical manifestations, others may never have taken human form. Some can be reincarnated family members but that is quite rare.
How do our guides assist us? One of the ways this can happen is by tuning into your energy to assist in helping you fulfill your karmic contracts. Spirit guides intervene in many ways. They can arrange synchronizations to alert you that something needs your consideration. Pay very close attention when you experience things happening in groups or see repeating numbers such as “1111” which signifies an energetic gateway opening, which is a sign that guides are guides are directly involved in your life and helping you achieve your goals. Pay attention to the people and situations around you as your response is very important at these times.
Another way guides assist you here on earth is by bringing people into your life. Yes, there are no coincidences. Especially if you feel that you have known this person before or the energy is familiar. You probably have. Your guides and others guides generally work together to arrange “Meetings”. That’s why a lot of people who meet someone “out of the blue” or “when they weren’t looking for it” are a bit startled when it happens. It feels familiar but there is also a feeling that something else was at work.
Guides can also nudge you in a particular direction or arrange for something to happen to you. For example, maybe you’re running late and can’t find your keys. You’re frustrated because you need to get somewhere on time. Suddenly, your phone rings and it’s a really important call you would have missed if you had found your keys earlier. Who do you think actually misplaced your keys? This is hard for them because you have free will. They can only arrange so much, or nudge so hard. The more you can pick up on their clues, the more in tune you are with your purpose and pathway . Sometimes you just need to surrender to a situation that seems frustrating to fully embrace the meaning that it has for you.
Spirit guides generally communicate with you through your intuition. You may hear an inner voice that tells you to slow down and that maybe you are doing to much. Please listen. It’s more like an internal dialogue that goes on inside your head. Guides can often come to very strongly in the dream state. In the form of maybe a more lucid dream. You are at your most open in the dream state and can be open to deeper messages from your guides while sleeping. You can always ask for assistance before each day and before you turn in for bed, especially if you are grappling with an issue in your life.
Our Spirit Guides play an integral part in our spiritual and physical development and existence here on earth. They are not a figment of your imagination. These beings do exist and are necessary for the fulfillment of our human development spiritually and also on a physical level. Working with them directly can keep you on your spiritual course and deepen and enrich your life immensely.
Types of Spirit Guides
Archangels- Archangels are really the “Big Guns” in the Angelic World and a very powerful and commanding energetic signature. Highly sensitive people or Angelic Incarnates and Earth Angels and for that matter all light-workers can sense when they are in their presence. You can feel shifts in energy. It can feel electric. Each Archangel has its specialty. For example, Archangel Michael specialized in protection and evil. You can call upon him anytime you are afraid and ask for intercession.
Birthday Guides– This is your original Spirit Guide who is assigned to you when you are conceived. This special guide is with you from the time of your conception until you are ready to transition into the light and to the Higher Self for integration and healing. This guide may feel the most familiar to you. They usually appear to you in the dream state and when traveling on the Astral’s. Your birthday guide knows you and understands your purpose and your dreams, strengthens and limitations. This guide does have generational connections sometimes and may have been with you in past lives. This guide may also be learning through you.
Guardian Angel- Guardian Angels are assigned to you individually. Depending upon the age of the soul there can be more than one. Older souls for example do not need as much supervision or direction say as child spirits. These Angels have devoted their lives to helping you. You may call upon them at any moment Call on them anytime for immediate assistance. They love you unconditionally, forever. Remember that angels are nondenominational and work with people of all faiths and spiritual beliefs. Your Guardian Angel’s chief job is to keep you on the planet so you can continue to learn and grow and reach your spiritual goals.
Ascended Masters– Ascended Masters are spiritual people who once took human form to assist humanity on Earth towards ascension and deepening. Jesus Christ, Buddha are just two examples. They are teachers and mentors who assist human beings with their spiritual journey. They usually work together harmoniously and transcend religious beliefs and cultural backgrounds. The guidance is invaluable in the deepening of the soul, understanding how to love and show compassion as well as becoming aware of souls journey.
Helper Angels– Helper Angels are independent Angels who come into a person’s life-cycle to assist with a specific task or spiritual lesson. Some examples would be meeting new people, assisting with a new career or finding a new home. They can be known as “The Wanderers” as they go from person to person or situation to situation offering help and guidance. Sometimes when Helper Angels appear a person can feel a little heaviness or density that they did not feel previously. Once their assignment has been completed they leave. A lightness can be felt and clarity is very strong.
Animal Spirit Guides– Animal Spirit Guides can be a pet that you had in your care that has passed away and is now by your side spiritually and part of your Spiritual Guidance Family. Spirit Animal Guides may also be any animal that has something special to teach yo. For example a cat may come to assist you in learning and understanding the value of becoming independent. Or perhaps a bird may show up to help you embrace this feeling of being free. Spirit Animal Guides can appear in your dream states, in your home or even on a country walk.
Undines-The Earth energies cohabitation and integration with humanity. Gnomes, Water Elemental’ s, Tree Spirits, Fairies-etc all reside under this realm of spirits. They are very different than Angels in that they are not vibrating from the Heavenly plane and are not particularly devoted to humanities expansion an ascension. They are more focused on their own devotion which is the maintenance and love of planet Earth. They can however assist a human, especially if their is an incarnational connection to the elemental realm. Earth Spirits are never good or evil. They are elemental, of the Earth, so they embody the characteristics of both concepts which gives them a neutrality withing our cosmos. Those souls who have a profound connection to nature are more apt to receive downloads and guidance directly from these ancient guides.
Shamans, Wise Elders and Goddess Spirits- Shamans- Wise Elders and Goddess Spirits all embody the energy of spirit guides that extend the energy of our ancient ancestors. These spirits are specialized in sharing profound teachings of the past lessons and ideas to those souls who are present in their own energy. They frequently work with Older Souls in fortifying their energy fields and assisting them in their healing and growth on Earth. Their communication can be felt within ceremonial practices and storytelling. They usually make contact when the initiate is ready to share their teachings with others so they may also ascend. Those who share Native American lineage will be more aware of these types of spirit guides and may develop very profound relationships with them as their primary earthly guides. My Cherokee lineage has brought me many Native American Guides who have helped me immensely in my work.
Ancestral Guides– Working with our Ancestral Guides is our primary space of love and familiar connection. It is our bloodline ancestors that can most clearly assist us. Through the physical and spiritual bloodline these guides are our first point of direct contact and nourishment. They know us and if they are available are closer to us as they once embodied a human form. These guides belong to our multi-generational soul group and will be able to bring forth familiarity, kinship and understanding when you are seeking support and guidance. As I say many times when family members pass away, sometimes they can request to assume the role of a family guide to ensure that the family line remains intact and that their connection with the family lives on through the spiritual love the can extend from the higher realms.
How To Contact and Work With Your Spirit Guides
You can ask that your spirit guide(s) appear to you in your dream state. They will gladly enter your dream-time and listen to you concerns. They can offer direct guidance as well as subtle hints and clues about your next move and current situations.
Quiet and Guided Meditation is another way to connect to your Spirit Guides. Listening to music and letting your minded just drift and float.
Placing yourself in nature. Natural sounds of our Earth such as birds chirping, rivers flowing or even rain can attune your guides to you. You can ask your Spirit Guides to step forward. They may appear visually or as an energy force. The communication can work in sync with the Earth’s magnetic fields.
Try and create a space. The earth dimension is three dimensional and densified. It is not a particularly comfortable place for any Spirit. By raising your own frequency you will make the process clearer for the guides to meet you halfway.
You can ask your guides to bring or show you a sign such as a beautiful yellow butterfly or lovely bouquet of flowers. Your sign may appear on television or online. It may be a part of The Mystery School which is the palindromic number system. (I have another blog you can read about repeating numbers). These will be external symbols that catch your attention to let you know that your Spirit Guides are nearby and working in unison with you.
